After a week of dedication and training, Kyle was ready to test his new power on a predator and what better predator then a rancor.
After he landed on Dathomir he began his search, lightsabers in hands just in case things go wrong. After an hour or so, he found a rancor. Immediately after it saw Kyle, it began to charge. Kyle reach out with the force to the creature’s mind, calming it, telling it that’s he is a friend and it doesn’t want to hurt it. Kyle felt the creature’s mind relaxing, but he was too fixated to the task to sense the rancor behind him as it grabbed him. Kyle dropped his lightsabers as he was picked up. He know he can’t use beast control on two rancors at once so he will have to kill it, but since his arms were tied in the rancor’s grasp, he couldn’t hold his lightsabers even if he recalled them. Then he remembered a technique called kinetic combat, in which a Jedi could fight with weapons without having to hold them. Calling out to the force, Kyle made his lightsabers slash at the rancor’s fingers. Of course no skill can be used effectively without training, as Kyle accidentally cut into his own flesh. Kyle and the rancor both screamed as Kyle was dropped onto the ground. Thinking quickly, he force jumped as soon as he hit the ground at the rancor’s throat and slash at it, causing it to fall over backward, dead. Then he was grabbed by the other rancor. Since his arms were tied and his lightsabers were in his hands, he couldn’t use kinetic combat so he was swallowed whole. Kyle thought to try to use beast control again, but he doubts he can make a rancor spit out his meal, so Kyle activated his lightsabers and cut him out of the rancor’s stomach.
“That didn’t go well.” He thought to himself, but now he knows he is ready to use the power, but first, he has to learn more about kinetic combat. So he makes his way back to the academy.
